JOB PURPOSE: The Manager of the Play-Minded Program leads the Salomon Social and Environmental Sustainability Program by implementing the program’s strategic objectives, shaping its mode of delivery, overseeing and/or executing specific program projects.

In this role, you will actively communicate program goals and progress across the company, building a linkage of the function to other departments and fostering commitment to Salomon sustainability vision. Working collaboratively with our sister brands, you will work to bridge our sustainability efforts with those of Amer Sports and share best practices across the company. You will work collaboratively with the Salomon Brand Team to define, create and spread the word on the sustainability program – to our Consumers, Industry and Trade.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

You develop and execute an annual sustainability program plan focused on building value across the brand. Program areas of focus include:

  • The players, who nurture and energize our communities

  • The playmakers, who design and develop the tools that help make our playtime possible

  • The playground, home to our experience, that must be maintained and protected

  • The toys, the products we use to find these moments of joy and expression, and that we strive to create in line with our values

 

> MIND THE PLAYMAKERS

  • You collaborate with the Salomon Operations team and Global Sourcing team to ensure our factory partners are aligned with our Ethical Manufacturing guidelines and initiatives

  • You share best practices and program guidance with other Amer brands by working with leadership and sustainability functions

  • You lead Salomon participation in the Sustainable Apparel Coalition and brand and supplier use of the Higg Index

  • You lead Salomon verification and transparency roadmap for products and supply chain

 

 

 

 

> MIND THE TOYS

  • You contribute in materials chemistry R&D decisions (DWR, anti-odour, dyes, etc.) by working with Materials, Design and Product Line Management

  • You monitor chemistry and environmental inputs to the Salomon regulatory and compliance function for the updating and management of the Materials Compliance Program (A&G, FTW, WSE) including RSL.

  • You contribute Amer’s Bluesign participation as a high impact materials guidance framework

  • You lead and/or participate in the implementation of the circular economy principles across the categories (including packaging)

  • You provide an expert voice on materials impacts decisions in R&D, product innovation and design processes

  • You participate in industry working groups on chemicals management and microfibers pollution (e.g. Outdoor Industry Association, European Outdoor Group, Outdoor Sports Valley, Sustainable Apparel Coalition)

 

> MIND THE PLAYGROUND

  • You participate in industry engagement by representing Salomon in environmental communities (Conservation Alliance, EOCA, ACT for the Outdoors)

  • You lead the progress on the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action and join working groups

  • You support the retail team in the implementation of their sustainability plan

 

> MIND THE PLAYERS

  • You collaborate with the VP Brand, Marketing Director and Foundation Director who coordinate the roll out the 1% For the Players initiatives and define the role of Salomon Foundation

 

> MIND THE CULTURE
Together with VP Brand, Brand Director, HR department and external consultant:

  • You communicate progress on program goals across the company

  • You collaborate with the Human Resources to orient internal learning and doing

  • You link our program with Amer Sports’ Corporate Responsibility program by collaborating on goals, KPI collection, and reporting

  • You participate in strategic cross-functional projects as required

  • You report progress to the Salomon Comex every 2 month

Profil requis

 

  • You have 5+ years’ experience in leading and managing programs

  • You possess basic knowledge of chemical application to yarn/fabrics/plastics production

  • You have experience in the footwear, apparel or ski/snowboard industry (from product development to material production)

  • You have an awareness of the global regulatory environment for sports equipments

  • You are professionally competent in English

  • You have an ability to effectively manage and coordinate programs

  • You have strong communication and presentation skills

  • You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives

  • Your passion for sustainability is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
